For a long time, LAC had the privilege of being able to use an abandoned warehouse, known affectionately as "The Mill". This massive building was originally built in 1924 before refrigerated railroad cars were common, and was used to store massive amounts of ice, to re-supply the freight cars as they made their journey. The building was closed in the 1960's, and although it had fallen into disrepair, it was used for a variety of other uses over the years. The Mill was most recently the prized home of the LAC, as was also used occasionally by some paintball groups.
Tragically, on February 20th, 2009, The Mill caught fire and was a complete loss. The Mill will be greatly missed by the members of LAC, as well as our neighboring teams who enjoyed coming to play against us there.
